GREAT Foundation always believed in parterning so as to get maximum benefits of expertise and knowledge to our school children.

NGO Partners

GREAT Foundation partners with other NGOs to provide:

  1. Soroptmists Metro East (SME) –GREAT Foundation partnered with the SME to teach art for one term in one primary school which did not have an art teacher. GREAT Foundation,   introduced the Soroptmists to the School Principal and the class teacher, organized the classes, provided color pencils and paper to the children for their art work while SME taught the children.
  2. Azim Premji Foundation (APF) – They will be conducting 10 days training for 90 PCB teachers in two batches in April 2012. The subject specific training will take place at the APF centers and the entire training will be free of cost. GREAT Foundation had identified the training needs of the teachers and approached Azim Premji Foundation which is reputed for its teacher training. It entered into an extensive dialogue with the NGO, arranged and accompanied their team for a visit to seven PCB Schools in Pune to understand the teachers’ needs. GREAT Foundation presented a summary to the CEO of PCB. PCB passed the proposal of the training in its Board meeting and the training is poised to take off in April.
  3. Microsoft IT Academy - GREAT Foundation held discussions with Microsoft IT Academy, Pune and the PCB high schools and persuaded the Academy to train four teachers in ICT in every batch. They were trained free of cost. Finally it partnered with the schools and had 12 teachers trained by the Academy in the year 2005-06.
  4. Vedanta Foundation the CSR wing of Sterlite Industries was invited by GREAT Foundation in 2009 to train up Std V to X students in PCB schools at a time when the schools had no computer training; GREAT negotiated the fee and got it reduced to Rs. 150/- per student for 10 months training. A tripartite tie up between PCB, Vedanta and GREAT Foundation was effected with the latter acting as Administrative Coordinator to ensure smooth delivery of the course.
  5. Kirloskar Foundation was invited by GREAT Foundation to conduct its WASH and Clean and Beautiful School (CBS) programs in the schools. GREAT Foundation participated in the discussions with the School Principals and the CEO of PCB. The program is in progress since 2011.
  6. Toy Bank approached GREAT Foundation with a request to shift the partner with it so they could provide old toys in good condition for distribution to the Primary School Children. GREAT Foundation and Toy Bank jointly distributed toys at four Primary Schools.
  7. Akshar Bharti was requested to provide libraries for three Primary and three High schools since the schools did not have libraries. The libraries have been approved in principle and will be set up once donors are found for them.
  8. Rotary Riverside Pune – Supported training of two batches of school teachers in St Vincent School and Junior College and one in Mahadji Shinde High School. 

Corporate Partners

GREAT Foundation ties up with corporate houses by articulating the needs of the underprivileged schools. 

  1. GS LAB has tied up with GREAT Foundation in many ways. It has donated notebooks for distribution among Standard IX and X students. A donation box is now kept at the company; the collection will be used for setting up a library in one of the schools.
  2. ValueNotes helps provide volunteers and individual donations. It also keeps the GREAT Foundation donation box periodically.
  3.  SBI was approached to donate notebooks and old furniture to PCB schools
  4. Cognizant Technology Outreach sponsored the SSC exam to be fees in 2010
  5. Digicall Teleservices kept a donation box in the compan and the amount collected is being used for setting up a school library
  6. Vodafone – Collected money with which notebooks and 'Likely Questions sets' were purchased and distributed to Std X students in the presence of Stds. Vodafone officials.
  7. HCC has supported a text books library for Std IX and X. GREAT Foundation will be organizing the purchase.
  8. Trent-Tata sponsored Spoken English & Personality Development Courses for Std X appeared students
